LAW 9331 - Border Policy and Politics Effective Start Date: 10/29/2019 An in-depth investigation of the legal, historical, and political contexts of Central American migration to the United States, with a particular focus on the current circumstances of immigrants attempting to seek asylum at the US-Mexico border. Students will explore the history of international law and geopolitics as they affect refugees and asylum seekers, and will evaluate recent policy decisions that have changed asylum law in the U.S.
