EDHS 557 - The Art and Science of Sports Medicine


A comprehensive analysis and discussion of selected aspects of sports medicine. Topics include the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and training methods, the female athlete, and factors affecting human performance in athletics. A series of practical demonstrations and clinics are coordinated with the course. This course is conducted by a distinguished faculty of physicians, scientists, and educators who are nationally recognized for their expertise. There is significant and substantial academic work required for academic credit in addition to the conference attendance. Students must complete a required reading list and test, attend the conference, and write a paper due by August 1. There is a conference fee in addition to the regular University tuition and fee.
