DRAM 210 - The Art of Light and Shadow If photography can be called the art of fixing a shadow, then filmmaking becomes the art of moving shadows. This course teaches film and digital video production through an examination of light and shadow as portrayed in dramatic forms. Indonesian shadow puppetry, the masks of Bali and Burkina Faso, and examples in cinema inform our work. Each student completes individual and group film assignments, as well as short films of their choice. There is some construction of sets and masks. Beginners or students with prior film experience.
