ARH 7030 - World Vernacular Architecture Effective Start Date: 09/10/2013 Vernacular Architecture is often understood to be all the built environment that is not ‘High Architecture.’ This is a profound misunderstanding; Vernacular is any aspect of the built environment examined through the lens of the local AND it is a method of interrogating the relationship between architecture and the human experience. This lecture class enlists global examples to explore the many complex dimensions of vernacular.
