HIUS 7082 - Foundational Texts of the 19th Century US This course will acquaint students with foundational texts relating to 19th-Century U.S. history. The primary goal is to provide a sound understanding of books, essays, and other documents that often are mentioned but too seldom read carefully. The readings will convey crucial insights into the political, social, cultural, military, and economic history of the century–though they are not intended to offer comprehensive coverage of the era.
