Master of Science
Of the 30 credits required for the degree, students are expected to complete a minimum of 24 credits of graded coursework, including three introductory courses in research methods and ethics (BIOL 8240, BIOL 8250, BIMS 7100 or GSCI 8000), four lecture or laboratory courses, two courses in topical research and one colloquium or journal club. Students completing degree requirements at the Mountain Lake Biological Station are exempt from the introductory courses in research methods and ethics and are eligible to complete graduate coursework during the summer term. Students are expected to write and defend a thesis based primarily on independent laboratory research. Courses
