French - Minor

Requirements for the French Minor
The French minor consists of 18 credit hours of courses with a minimum grade of “C” in the FREN sequence at and above the level of FREN 3020, with the further provisions: - FREN 3031 (3 credits) is required, unless the student receives an exemption from the Director of the Undergraduate Program.
- Also, at least 3 of those required hours must be at the level of FREN 4000 or above.
- Three credits in pre-1800 literature or culture and three credits in post-1800 literature or culture are required. Only courses with the FREN subject code will satisfy.
Credit for Study Abroad
With the approval by the Director of Undergraduate Studies, up to six credits toward the minor may be earned in an approved program abroad. Summer in Lyon and J-Term abroad provide direct UVA credit, not transfer credit. Additional Information
