M.M.S.E. Degree
The M.M.S.E. degree in MSE emphasizes classroom learning and requires that the student achieve satisfactorily 30 course credits beyond the bachelors level.
The course requirements are as follows:
- 4 MSE Core Courses - 12 Credits
- 6 Elective Courses from MSE, SEAS, or UVA Sci/Math - 18 Credits
- TOTAL: 30 Credits
Additional Information:
- Up to six credits of electives may be earned in faculty-supervised independent study or advanced topics courses. Such studies may include laboratory work.
- The majority of courses (at least 6, including the core courses) should be MSE courses. The inclusion of each non-MSE course into the plan of study should be approved by the faculty advisor.
- The Plan of Study must be approved by the MSE Graduate Director. M.M.S.E.-Virginia Engineering Online degree Plan of Study must be approved by the MSE VEO advisor. This form can be found here and will be completed by an MSE faculty member then submitted to the MSE graduate coordinator.
- Each M.M.S.E. student will be assessed by faculty based on their proficiency at two of the following: engineering analysis, design, oral communication, or technical writing. These forms can also be found here and completed by an MSE faculty member then submitted to the MSE graduate coordinator.
