McIntire Business Institute (MBI) was founded in 1982. This program gives holders of non-business degrees a working knowledge of business practices. Current students, graduates, and working professionals benefit from this high-value program that is designed to deliver fundamental business theory and practice to those with little or no business background. This outstanding program includes courses in accounting, finance, management and marketing that serve as sound preparation for careers in business and industry, and also serves as a useful first step in exploring post-graduation business studies. In addition to the coursework, participants also receive personalized career counseling including resume preparation, interview skills, and job seeking advice. Upon completion, students receive a certificate of completion, and those with exceptional participation receive awards for outstanding achievement. Currently, three versions of MBI are offered:
1. Academic Year: Offered August - April, with January-term classes; Meets every Friday, 11 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.
2. Summer Program: Offered mid-May to late June; Meets Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
3. Online Program:; A 15 week program with starts in January, May and September.
