The Science Education Program offers degrees at the masters and doctoral level. An applicant to the Masters of Education (M.Ed.) degree programs must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university as well as meet other requirements for admission to the master of education degree program. An applicant to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree programs must hold a master’s degree and be prepared to complete required course work in science education, 2) relevant disciplinary areas of science, 3) research methodology, and 4) seminars offered by the Science Education faculty.

Science Education
The Masters of Education in Science Education (M.Ed.) degree offers in-depth preparation for individuals seeking to develop a greater understanding of science education and related educational policy with a focus on educational research.
The Ph.D. program with a science education concentration prepares educators to pursue research agendas related to science education either in university settings or at research-and-development centers, agencies, or organizations. Ph.D. candidates are also prepared to become science teacher educators at a university or college level. Ph.D. program applicants should have a strong background in a particular field of science and previous professional experience in an area directly related to science education. |
