Drama


Drama majors and minors are expected to participate in the production program and attend all theatre productions and department meetings. The minimum passing grade is C for all required courses. The total credits required for the major (including the prerequisite) is 33.

Drama Activities


The activities of the drama department include the main season of major production and the Studio Laboratory Theatre Series, as well as professional theatre companies, guest artists, and ballet troupes. In addition, each summer the department sponsors the professional Heritage Theatre Festival. All productions are presented in the Helms and Culbreth Theatres located in the Department of Drama building on Culbreth Road.

Requirements for Minor in Dance:  Dance minors are required to take five credits of Technique including the Modern and Ballet requirements.  Students will be required to take two courses (3 credits) in Composition, 6 credits of dance electives, and one Production/Design course within the Drama Department.  Students will also be required to take Modern Dance History.  In addition to the coursework, dance minors will be required to participate in 1-2 dance performances within the department.

Total credits required for the minor is 20.
