Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Charles L. Brown Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers the Master of Engineering, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in both computer engineering and electrical engineering. Financial aid is available to qualified PHD students in the form of graduate research or teaching assistantships and fellowships. The Computer Engineering degrees are offered jointly with the Computer Science Department and are interdisciplinary degrees (engineering.virginia.edu/computer-engineering-program).

The department also offers a part-time master of engineering degree in electrical engineering through the Virginia Engineering Online (VEO) program.  Students can complete all their coursework remotely through courses offered by any of the schools within the Cardinal Education program.These courses are also available to those who wish to increase their knowledge of electrical engineering but do not wish to enroll in a formal degree program.
