The Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education provides educational programs for individuals interested in the development and delivery of curriculum and instruction in schools and specialized educational institutions for all learners, including those with special needs. The department provides leadership within the Commonwealth of Virginia and the nation in areas related to curriculum, instruction, and special education. Areas in the department that supply licensure and endorsements are considered part of Teacher Education (elementary education, secondary education, reading education, and special education). These areas offer master’s degrees (M.Ed. or M.T.). The Department follows all policies and guidelines established by the Curry School of Education; additional information can be found on the Curry website.
