ENMC 840 - Drama of the Twentieth Century Surveys European and American drama as well as work from other regions. Focuses on reactions against realism, examining expressionism, surrealism, epic theater, absurdism, and the rise of ethnic and other minority playwrights in the second half of the century. Studies works by Strindberg, Synge, Pirandello, Brecht, Lorca, Beckett, Kennedy, Churchill, Wilson, Stoppard, Kushner, and others. (IR)
