MAE 6330 - Lubrication Theory and Design Effective Date 03/01/2009 Topics include the hydrodynamic theory of lubrication for an incompressible fluid; design principles of bearings: oil flow, load-carrying capacity, temperature rise, stiffness, damping properties; influence of bearing design upon rotating machinery; computer modeling methods; and applications to specific types. Prerequisite: Instructor permission.
