PLIR 4350 - Humanitarian Intervention and International Relations Effective Date 01/01/2013 Since the fall of the Berlin wall, humanitarian intervention has been an important talking point and policy decision for governments and intergovernmental institutions globally. In recent months, the United Nations, NATO, the EU and powerful states with the capacity to act unilaterally have debated the merits of intervening in numerous locations including but not limited to Libya, Somalia, and Sudan.
