LAW 9176 - Topics in U.S. Foreign Policy Effective Start Date: 01/01/2012 In this course we will examine a variety of historical topics in U.S. foreign policy that involved significant aspects of both domestic and international law, such as Jefferson’s war on the Barbary Pirates, Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation (and its impact on the prospects of foreign recognition of the Confederacy), and Truman’s conduct of the Korean War.
