AAS 2750 - Sensing Africa

In this course, we will ponder what it means to experience Africa through the senses by highlighting how the conventional five sense–sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch–produce and consolidate racialized responses to peoples, societies, and cultures of Africa and the African Diaspora. How do our complex identities and senses shape our views of Africa, this massively complex continent?

Requisites: Students can’t enroll if previously taken AAS 2559 #19 Sensing Africa
