BIOL 4757 - GIS for Field Biologists Effective Start Date: 02/10/2014 This course will cover the fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems as applied to biological questions with application in ecology, evolution, conservation, disease ecology, and human land-use. Students will learn spatial theory, analysis, and hands-on use of GIS software (including ArcGIS). Field laboratories will allow students to use Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and learn to incorporate this technology into spatial analyses.
