HIUS 9026 - African American History since 1865 Effective Start Date: 08/01/2019 Course readings include a selection of field-defining works of African American history, from Reconstruction to the modern U.S. civil rights movement. Themes to be discussed include African American leadership, African American political behavior, analyses of the political economy of race, literary and cultural production, Black nationalism, mass social movements, the criminal justice system, and African American gender politics.
