MDST 3354 - Race and Media

In this course, we explore the landscape of media cultures in the U.S. along the axes of race, ethnicity, class, gender, and sexuality with particular emphasis on the construction of race. We explore issues related to white supremacy, anti-blackness, mixed-race, settler colonialism, immigrant and transqueer phobia, and the production of racial difference.
