RELC 8729 - Bible, Culture, and Ritual in the Eastern Roman Empire The Bible played a deeply formative role in shaping the culture of the later Roman Empire, particularly in the Eastern regions, where Christianity had initially spread much more widely and more rapidly than in the West.
