GBAC 7216 - Managing Big Data

In this course, you will be introduced to the concepts (i.e. data lakes and cloud computing), tools, and techniques for working with big data. You will learn to use software such as Hadoop and Spark. These tools enable large-scale data processing. The course contains readings, cases, and exercises. An example of an exercise is to build a recommender system that recommends a movie based on the new user’s and similar users’ preferences.
