BIOL 4350 - Metabolism: In Sickness and in Health A worldwide obesity epidemic exists. With it comes increased risk of chronic disease, such as Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain cancers. This course will survey the molecular, genetic, physiologic and behavioral paths that lead to obesity and that contribute to prevalent chronic diseases. Through discussions of scientific literature, we will gain an integrated view of the factors that influence our energy homeostasis. Prerequiste: BIOL 3000, 3010.
