AMST 3460 - Reading America at Home and Abroad This course explores ideas of America, as they are constructed both at “home” in the United States, and “abroad,” in and through a number of global locales. It considers a range of representations, in literature, art, film and music, and also the everyday life of American culture. In asking how America has seen itself and how others have seen America, we will effectively theorize the concepts of both nation and globality.
