WGS 4360 - Body Politics and the Body Politic This seminar places feminist and non-feminist debates about body politics beauty standards, racialization and color politics, transgender movements, body modification, work discipline, commodification, torture, cyborgs, and new corporeal technologies–in the context of a wider universe of political and philosophical writing on embodiment. Students will be introduced to culturally and historically diverse bodies.
Prerequisite: 4th year WGS majors, WGS 2nd majors and WGS minors or instructor permission
