ISSS 4410 - Qualitative Inquiry and Methodology This field-based course guides the students through the complete qualitative process and teaches them to understand and apply methods of qualitative research through a field-based project; to call into question taken-for-granted assumptions about the purpose of research, uses of methods, nature of social science knowledge and personal biases in the understanding of social processes; to develop an ability to examine social situations from multiple perspectives through classroom discussions of research experiences; and to develop a personal philosophy of inquiry and successfully apply knowledge of various methods of qualitative data collection, data analysis, and report presentation to complete a field-based qualitative research project.
