RELC 3835 - Christian Art Among other topics, this course explores the derogation of Jews as ‘the people without art’; the theological implications of Augustine’s renumbering of the commandments; the Protestant backlash against Catholic art in the Counter-Reformation; and the controversy surrounding the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which published twelve cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in 2005.
