PLCP 3640 - Women and Politics in South Asia This course examines the role of women in politics in the countries of South Asia (including India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan) from the colonial to the modern period. Particular attention is paid to issues of democracy and authoritarian rule; identity politics (including religion, nationalism, and caste); political institutions and processes; and political violence.
