GNUR 6060 - Culture and Health: Implications for Practice

This course explores common health care problems related to ethnic and minority populations. Issues related to access to care and social justice will be explored. Theories and assessment instruments related to cultural diversity and cultural competency will also be examined. The role of health care provider as change agent to ensuring equality in the delivery of health care services will be discussed. A project targeting a cultural/diversity gap identified in a clinical agency will be completed.
Prerequisite: Graduate standing or instructor permission.
