ANTH 240 - Language, Culture, and Society This course is an introduction to some of the key concepts and approaches of linguistic anthropology. Topics include the structure of language; the relationship between language and thought; the role of language in the creation of social identity; and the cultural politics of language. Course requirements include careful reading, active discussion, one linguistic problem set, and two short papers. (Y)
