BIMS 9640 - Clinical Oncology for Basic and Translational Scientists This course is designed to present an overview of selected aspects of clinical cancer diagnosis and care by cancer practitioners, with a view toward developing new clinical and translational research initiatives. Selected vignettes demonstrating technologies and problems will be presented, together with a discussion of cutting edge approaches and current problems confronting clinicians, patients, and researchers. The level of presentation will be for the non-specialist in each area, addressing trainees and basic science investigators, but providing challenging thought for established clinicians. At least a third of each session will be dedicated to interaction between investigators and clinicians, with the emphasis on identifying opportunities for basic-clinical (or translational) collaboration.
