EAST 2630 - Chinese Culture and Social Change An interdisciplinary course that looks at Chinese culture through the lens of social orchestration efforts by different types of Chinese states, from the Qing dynasty to the present. Examines the meaning of culture and the roots of cultural change as well as the bases for accommodation or resistance to directed social change. Prior course on China or instructor permission.
