EVAT 554 - Ocean-Atmosphere Dynamics Begins with the equations of motion governing the atmosphere and generalizations necessary for application to ocean dynamics. Topics include influence of atmospheric thermal- and wind-forcing on the ocean, oceanic feedback on the atmosphere, and intrinsically coupled ocean-atmosphere processes. Examines the behavior of the coupled ocean-atmosphere and climate system on seasonal, interannual, and longer time scales (e.g., El Niño/Southern Oscillation phenomenon). (O)
Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisite: EVSC 350 or equivalent, or one semester of calculus-based physics, or instructor permission.
