CE 426 - Environmental Systems Management Emphasizes the formulation of environmental management issues as optimization problems. Simulation models are presented and combined with optimization algorithms. Environmental systems addressed include stream quality, air quality, water supply, waste management, groundwater remediation, and reservoir operations. Optimization techniques presented include linear, integer, and separable programming, dynamic programming, nonlinear programming and genetic algorithms. (Y)
