CHEM 351 - Physical Chemistry Introduces physical chemistry designated specifically for undergraduate chemical engineers. Survey of the basic principles of equilibrium thermodynamics, the kinetic theory of gases, quantum mechanics of atoms and molecules, molecular spectroscopy, statistical mechanics, and reaction dynamics. Emphasizes the fundamental theories, models, and laws used in describing, representing, and explaining physical processes and properties characteristic of chemical systems. (Y)
