ISSS 475P - Intergroup Relations In this course, students develop an understanding of the basic cognitive and motivational processes involved in inter-group relations. They are encouraged to consider the roles of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination in everyday life. Topics include: variations in racist and sexist beliefs; the effect of stereotypes on how we perceive others and interact socially; and the psychological processes that may change stereotypes and reduce prejudice.
