L AR 527 - Race and American Places Seminar that explores the ways in which multicultural struggle—particularly racial struggle—is manifested spatially in the built environments of America. Examines this through readings in cultural theory and design literature, as well as through field trips. Relates the concepts introduced in readings to the business of understanding how identity politics influences the way we design and use places around us. (E)
