Historic Preservation Minor

Requirements


Minor in Historic Preservation requires a total of 15 completed credit hours with a minimum grade of C-.  Three courses, nine credit hours, are required among the five listings in the Foundations of Preservation Core.  Two courses, six credit hours, are required from among the Specialized Preservation Courses.  The Specialized list is not all-inclusive.  Check with Director for approval of other courses.

        Foundation of Preservation Core (three Courses, 9 Credits)

  • ARH 3704 - Twentieth-Century American Architecture - Credits: 3   
  • LAR 5120- Advanced History of Landscape Design I, Credits: 3
  • LAR 5130- Advanced History of Landscape Design II, Credits: 3
  • PLAN 5300- Preservation Planning, Credits: 3

        Special Preservation Courses (two courses, 6 credits)

  • LAR 5140- Advance Theories of Modern Landscape Architecture, Credits: 3
  • LAR 5230- Advanced Cultural Landscape Preservation, Credits: 3
  • ARH 7612- Theory & Practice in Rural Preservation, Credits: 3
  • ARH 5500- UNESCO and Architectural Heritage, Credits: 3
