General Information

Students must fulfill the following requirement for the M.S. in Biological and Physical Sciences.

Requirements for Master of Science

Each student must receive a passing grade (B- or above) in BIMS 6000 - Core Course in Integrative Biosciences Credits: 10  or the equivalent.

The completion of the pre-clinical MD curriculum can be substituted for BIMS 6000 and a total of 15 credits of coursework towards this degree program based on the SoMs policy on course equivalencies.

All candidates are expected to participate in a colloquium, seminar, journal club series, Foundations of Clinical Medicine or the equivalent for a minimum of 3 semesters. Seminar/colloquia series should be selected based on the student’s needs and interests.

All candidates are expected to complete a written research paper and to make a satisfactory standing in a final oral presentation of that paper before an examining committee of two or more faculty members designated by the program in which the candidate is working.
