ISBU 470 - Strategic Management Consulting

This course develops the practical, strategic-thinking and behavioral skills required to operate in a double-hatted mode. It focuses on identifying, diagnosing, and resolving client issues; introduces students to the strategy, process, and technology of consulting; reviews change-management methodologies; considers the “psychological stance” required to succeed in the consultant role; and compares and contrasts the roles of external and internal consultants. The course integrates readings, case studies, group activities, and client-focused work to simulate what it feels like to be a consultant. (Y)
