EDIS 8191 - Teacher Evaluation Research Effective Start Date: 11/11/2015 This course examines major approaches to teacher evaluation in K-12 education including classroom observation instruments, teacher value-added measures, teacher portfolios, and student surveys. We will examine the current research base on each of these approaches, including evidence related to their reliability, validity, and fairness/bias. We will also address challenges to implementing each approach for use in summative teacher evaluation.
