EDIS 7210 - Advanced Language Development Focuses on language acquisition and development. Emphasizes the development of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and phonology. Factors influencing language acquisition and development, such as the role of primary caretaker, the active participation of the child, social-economic conditions, and sensitivity to non-verbal cues are explored. Reading and research in language development highlight current issues in language requisition. Prerequisite: EDIS 5210 or equivalent.
