BIOP 8020 - Macromolec Crystallography

The course offers in depth coverage of theory and practical applications of X-ray diffraction methods to crystals of biological macromolecules and their complexes. Specific topics will cover macromolecular crystallization, data collection and reduction, solution of the phase problem by Molecular Replacement, Isomorphous Replacement and Anomalous Scattering, model building and refinement as well as model validation. Prerequisite: BIOP 8101: Bioinformatics and Protein Structure or permission of instructor
