ARTH 2752 - American Art Since Reconstruction This lecture course examines the visual arts (painting, sculpture, photography, prints) of the United States from the late 19th-century to World War II. Particular emphasis is placed on cultural, political, and social issues that provide a contextual framework for the analysis of these images. The course interrogates topics such as artistic identity, American modernism, patronage, and the influence of popular culture on fine art.
