SAST 4993 - Colonial Indians in the West: Negotiation, Appropriation and Assimilation The present course focuses on writings by Indians during the colonial period and beyond to examine the existing relational nature between the Indians and the West. In doing so the course also focuses on the wider significance of Indian writings how they encapsulated discourses on identity and how they negotiated or assimilated in the Western cultural milieu while they are traveling to the West. Prerequisite: Consent of Instructor
