CE 2305 - Statics and Strength of Materials

Concepts of mechanics; systems of forces, couples; equilibrium of particles and rigid bodies; trusses, frames, machines and beams; centroids and moments of inertia; concepts of stress and strain; constitutive relations; axially loaded members; torsion of bars; internal forces in beams; stresses and deformations in beams; analysis of stress and strain; failure theories;buckling/columns.
Prerequisite: APMA 2120, PHYS 1425
