PHIL 161 - Philosophy of Punishment

In this course we consider the justification of punishment and then turn to philosophical perspectives on sentencing (with particular emphasis on debates surrounding the death penalty). At the end of the course we turn to radical critiques of the entire institution of punishment. (S)
