CE 4030 - Earth Work

Introduces landform geometry, grading concepts and methods, with emphasis on the interrelationship between technical and design issues. Fundamental site engineering principles of drainage, the grading of walks, roads, curbs, and level areas, together with cut and fill and take-off calculations are covered in traditional and digital media. Students translate between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional representations to produce grading plans for automated and construction processes. Prerequisite: CE 201 or LAR 533.
