PHYS 826 - Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy

The course is designed to provide students in physics, chemistry, and engineering an overview of methods in which laser pulses with extremely short duration are used to explore atoms, molecules, and surfaces for basic and applied research applications. Students are also provided with formal descriptions of how laser pulses with extremely short duration are produced, manipulated, and characterized. (IR)

Prerequisites & Notes
Prerequisite: There are no explicit graduate course pre-requisites, but familiarity with undergraduate level quantum mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, and differential calculus is expected.
